Film Room · Week 3
Week 3: Da Bears.
Nobody cracked it.
89% of the field took Philadelphia on Monday night. Da Bears had other plans: 27 to 7, and the first week of the season with nobody left holding a ball. Sunday was no picnic for the chalk either. Favorites went 2 and 5, and Carolina's loss at Cleveland wiped out 1,706 of 2,111 cards in the first window.
No winner this week
36 cards survived the Sunday slate. 31 of them rode with Philadelphia, and Chicago held Philadelphia to seven points. The five who believed in Da Bears went 7 for 7 and then ran into the number: the lowest of their calls was 42, and the Final finished at 34. Closest without going over. All five went over.

Chalk got chewed up
The most popular card in the contest was every favorite, all seven. 198 people turned it in. Carolina lost 21 to 18 at Cleveland and sank all 198 in the one o'clock window. By Monday night, five of the seven favorites had lost.
