Preseason Week 3: The Friday night cut.
Two balls, one number.
2,055 people filled out a card for the preseason. Five Friday-night games later, 53 were still perfect. Saturday finished the job: 22 cards went 7 for 7, one tie counted for everybody, and two players who both said 38 each took home a whole ball.
This week's winners
22 cards survived all seven games, helped by a Seattle and Kansas City tie that voided itself and let everyone through. The Final, Chicago at Tennessee, ended 24 to 15: 39 points. The closest calls without going over were three perfect cards at 38, and the rules send a whole ball to up to two identical calls, earliest card first.

Every bar is the whole field's picks for one game. Blue is the side that won. Favorites went 2 and 4 with one tie, and the two cuts that mattered were Cincinnati at Philadelphia and New Orleans at Dallas.
The coin flip and the room-emptier
139 people turned in the most popular card, and it had Philadelphia and Dallas. Philadelphia was the closest call on the card, 54 to 46, and Cincinnati's 30 to 13 win cut 911 perfect cards. Then 83% of the field had Dallas. New Orleans won 27 to 24, and 741 of the 831 cards still alive went with it.
